  • 1950

    Haji Ajmal Ali – our Founder Father – leaves his homeland in the north-eastern part of India and travels to Mumbai, India’s commercial capital. He becomes a supplier of Agarwood and Dahn Al Oudh sourced from his state of Assam.

  • 1951

    Haji Ajmal Ali starts blending various kinds of fragrant oils – thereby transforming from a Farmer into a Perfumer. He becomes a manufacturer of fragrances and emerges as the premier supplier of fragrances to the Middle East.

  • 1964

    Haji Ajmal Ali gives his family name to the product range.

  • 1976

    Haji Ajmal Ali moves the company’s operations to the Middle East and opens the first Ajmal outlet in Dubai, UAE.

    Ajmal launches its first ‘Mukhallat’ (Arabic for concoction) fragrance. The success of the product prompts the company to launch several more such products.

  • 1979

    Ajmal launches a massive afforestation program in its Agarwood plantations in Assam, India. Till date, over 10 Million Agarwood and Sandalwood Trees have been planted.

  • 1987

    1987 – Ajmal becomes the first company to bring the magical notes of Dahn Al Oudh to a wider global audience by launching it as an Eau de Parfum.

    Ajmal sets up a manufacturing unit in Dubai, UAE. Simultaneously, a hi-tech R&D facility is also set up.

  • 1991

    Ajmal opens its first exclusive showroom in Kuwait.

  • 1992

    Ajmal opens its first exclusive showroom in Oman.

  • 1993

    Ajmal introduces its products on Kuwait Airways.

  • 1994

    Ajmal opens its first exclusive showroom in Qatar.

  • 1995

    Ajmal launches ‘Sarah’ as its first branded ‘Mukhallat’. Sarah goes on to become one of the Middle East’s largest selling all-time fragrances.

    Ajmal opens its first exclusive showroom in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

    Ajmal launches ‘Dahn Al Oudh Moattaq’, which at USD 700 for a 12ml bottle becomes one of the most expensive fragrances in the world.

    The 100-bed charitable Haji Abdul Majid Memorial Hospital & Research Center opens in Assam, India. It is inaugurated by Late Saint Mother Teresa.

  • 1996

    Ajmal opens its first exclusive showroom in Bahrain.

    Ajmal patents the artificial inoculation technique of Agarwood in 4 out of the 6 countries where Oudh is in abundance.

  • 1997

    Ajmal launches ‘Daanat Al Duniya’ which emerges as one of the best selling fragrances in the region.

    Ajmal launches ‘Dahn Al Oudh Maliki Al Qadim’ – the first limited edition perfume in the Middle East, priced at USD 875.

    Ajmal launches ‘Oudh Mubakhar’ and patents its process after 4 years of research – and it grows into one of the industry best sellers

  • 1998

    Ajmal creates exclusive fragrances for Gulf Air, thus taking wings in this new direction of airline retail.

  • 1999

    Ajmal creates exclusive fragrances for Saudi Arabian Airlines.
